It was an unforgettable flight from JNB to HKG.

I was waken up by a crew during my rest period.
The crew: Winky, we are diverting to Colombo.
    Winky: Why?
The crew: A passenger needs emergency medical assistance.

When I came down to the cabin, the passenger was laying on the floor with oxygen mask on. Every crew was working very hard to assist her or serving other passengers. As most of the senior crews were dealing with the situation, I just tried to take care of my cabin and assisted other crews for this and that. Passengers were calm and being very understanding.

So far we just knew that the passenger threw up a lot of blood all of a sudden and fainted right after that. Her husband said she was not feeling well before the flight. Captain decided to divert the flight to Colombo to offload that passenger, hopefully it could save her life.

We landed at Colombo within 1 hour and the medical assistance were standby when we arrived. Some Taiwanese crews were so worried about the couple as they did not speak any English. 3 crews volunteered to stay at Colombo with the passenger as a translator. Luckily, they had the situation sorted out and crews could come back with the flight.

Finally it became a 16 hours flight and all of us were terribly tired after the flight. I was touched by the team and especially for those who volunteered to stay at Colombo.
Believe it or not, this is cabin crew. Most of us are really really kindhearted and tried our very best to help our passengers. I am so proud of the good people who work with me all the time.

We have no news from the company about that passenger. Somehow, I do not want to know too.
I just wish that her life was saved and she had a nice home return journey with her husband.
